Ashhurst Model Train Club
Hi there
We are a local group of model railway enthusiasts, who share a pssion for model railways and socialisation about all things related to railways.
Our meetings will be the first and second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm. The venue may vary because the plans are diverse and interesting for 2012.

On the agenda are the following ideas for 2012;
· Visit to other clubs (Wanganui, Dannevirke, Feilding, Manawatu where suggested) Please send me the contacts and I will make some bookings for later in the year
· Working Bees on other layouts; Bob Dawes, George, Charlie lookout.
· Visits by guests to speak on modelling topics travels or movies. (Ideas and contacts welcome, but I have begun…)
· Fortnightly work on the layout at 261 Cambridge Avenue will allow Adrian more time to make up resources and also to plan around events and in effect this will get more done
· George, Bob, Adrian, and anyone else that is interested we will have a working day on the Thursday 29th December to complete shelves under the Layout to create more space and hopefully complete the covered area for the fiddle yard. Phillips Models say that lunch will be provided with refreshments at days end
· Working Bee on Bob Dawes layout Tuesday 24th January. Those interested please contact Adrian (06) 3269934
We thought that later on we would hold some modelling work shops: Local lady with Modelling Skills in building work, soldering, DCC, Electronics, Railway Photography, Video Slides shows etc would be interesting as well and your ideas very welcome.
Would any one be interested in making a planned group for some railway excursions? We will post information here for you as we get it.

Hi everyone we are planning an excursion railway evenet to join Steam Incorperated excursion to Waipukarau on the 7th of January 2012.
The journey wil be powered by the Heritage Diesel DA1431 and this will be pulling veteran 50 and 56 foots mainline coaches. This is striking combination of colour and history from the mid 1950's bring a camera and go shopping in Waipukarau or enjoy lunch with fellow travellers after alighting at Waipukarau's Heritage Railway Station Building.
