Well known former Ashhurst resident, Clem King, collapsed and died on Sunday, November 25 as he walked to his local Anglican church in Auckland, where he was to lead the prayers that morning. He was 89.
His funeral will take place in Auckland on Thursday, November 29th, but there will be a short graveside commendation service at the Ashhurst Cemetery at 10.30am Saturday, December 1st, which Ashhurst people who knew Clem are invited to attend.
This will be followed by a finger food lunch at St Mary Magdalene’s Anglican Church Hall.
Clem wrote a number of articles for the Village Voice, mainly regarding the history of Ashhurst. We appreciate his contribution to the Village Voice and to the Community of Ashhurst.
