Welcome to Ashhurst!

Ashhurst

Ashhurst is the gateway to the Pohangina Valley. Home of new State Highway 3, and the beginning of many pathways and journeys.  Farmland surrounds us. Rural meets Urban, country meets town.

Ashhurst is the center of our region.  In Maori, the area is Raukawa, the village is Otangaki. Our river is the Manawatu, and Pohangina.  Our mountain is Wharite. Te Apiti is our Gorge.

Ashhurst has a population of about 3000 people, a good primary school, and secondary schools a bus ride away. An awesome library, good community facilities, awesome parks and walking trails.

The city is only 15 minutes away - close, but not too close, with everything you would expect in a city.

There's even a colour named after us!
